VERN'S REPAIR & SPORT HAS BEEN AT THIS LOCATION SINCE FEBRUARY OF 2000.

 

Started in an old barn behind his house in 1971, Vern Makley quickly established Vern’s Repair as the go to place when you needed service for your power equipment. Not long after the repair business started up, Vern started selling STIHL power equipment as well. As time went on he looked to his son, Rick Makley to take over the business. From 1990 to 2000 Rick ran the business out of the same barn just south of woodland mi. It was at that point the opportunity to move and add additional services arose. With buying the property and inventory from Earl Greene, and bringing on long time friend and business partner Randy Frantz, Vern’s Repair & Sport was born. Offering more services than ever before, Bait and tackle, Simplicity and Husqvarna lawnmowers, propane refills, and more. Over the span of the next 16 years, we have won the STIHL Top Gun sales award, given out yearly to the dealer with the highest sales in their respective market. Over the years we have had great employees and now have 4 fulltime employees and 3 part time. We are still very much a family run business with Rick’s son, Kyle now working in the general manager roll and Greg Day and his son Jacob both having positions in the company.
